If someone gets hit right on the right eye what should you do and how should you bandage eyes?
The eye is a very delicate organ that can be easily injured and injury to the eye may turn out to be permanent
- Perform a primary assessment and monitor the patient's Cycle of Care AB-CABS
- Apply cold compresses for 15 minutes; Apply a sterile dressing or eye pad gauze and lightly bandage the eye
- Consider covering both eyes to deter the patient from moving the injured eye
- If EMS is not called, encourage the patient to see an eye specialist as soon as possible
